In his Ted Talks video "Eye vs. camera" Michael
Mauser outlines the similarities and differences between your eye and a
video camera. He shows us that your eyes don’t always capture the world exactly as a video camera
would. But the eyes are remarkably efficient organs, the result of
hundreds of millions of years of coevolution with our brains. Exploratorium’s Color Uncovered iPad app provides a good
introduction or follow-up to the TED-Ed lesson Eye vs. Camera. Explore the surprising side of color with Color Uncovered, an
interactive book that features fascinating illusions, articles, and
videos developed by the Exploratorium.

Desmos - A free Graphing Calculator
Desmos - A Graphing Calculator for
iPad, Android, and Your Browser
Desmos is a free graphing
calculator that has been available for a few years as a browser-based tool and
as an iPad app. Late last month Desmos launched a free Android app. The
Desmos calculator performs all of the functions you would expect to see in a graphing
calculator with a couple of extras that you don't find in typical graphing
calculators. Desmos allows you to share your equations and graphs. Desmos
graphs your equations as you type them and redraws them as you alter your
equations. See some of the best features of Desmos in the videos embedded
below.
